Product Overview
Black annealed wire starts as Q195 rod, is cold drawn to size and then annealed in a sealed furnace to take out the drawing work hardening. Hardness falls to HRB 60-75, so it feels soft, ties without snapping and springs back very little. The surface is the black oxide film left by annealing with a light rust preventive oil – there is no zinc coating, which keeps the cost below galvanized wire and suits single use or indoor applications.
