Product Overview
This is a 1×7 strand: six outer wires twisted around a core wire one size larger, then stabilised by tensioning and medium frequency tempering. That treatment is what gives low relaxation and stops the strand untwisting when it is cut. At the common 1860 MPa class the minimum breaking load is about 260 kN with 1000 hour relaxation at or below 2.5% and a modulus around 195 GPa – the working element of a post-tensioning system.

Applications
Used for post-tensioning tendons in highway and railway bridges, track slabs and sleepers, circumferential prestressing of nuclear containment and LNG tank walls, rock anchors for slopes and excavation, and pretensioning beds in precast yards. Bridge projects in the Middle East and Southeast Asia mostly buy the 15.2 mm low relaxation grade.
